It's literally 3am here and I got a sudden urge to use my rare free time to doodle. It's a curse I'm tellin' ya. When I get the inspiration to draw I won't calm down until I do. And this one was a surprise to me since I couldn't draw for who knows how much long due to my studying and huge artblock. I ain't saying that this is a big thing or anything, it's just a small quick drawing doodle but it still is something.

And now back to the artsy part. As I said, it's nothing special, but I would like to share it with you anyways. Also, it's perfect time to remember Vrains for one more time before Sevens started with airing. Also, this is not considered art like classic art, it's more like a doodle since I drew it in my notebook and it's has some lyrics behind.

Sketch
Booo, no quick strange lines 'n circles this time. I actually forgot to take a picture when I started with drawing cause I didn't mean to show it but then I remembered that I haven't blogged in a while so I took the chance. To those who are not familiar with the weird objects that I call "quick sketch", I basically analyse the figure I want to draw by sketching some helping lines aka: the circle for head; few triangles for his fabulous hair; two lines for face (central line and the eyes line); then a rectangle for the neck; and few oval circles for shoulders and torso.. I'll show it, don't worry. And after that, I start with merging the objects and fixing some off proportional parts. (The left pic is literally how the drawing started)

To those who are new to drawing, sketch is priceless. Always do a quick sketch just to know how will it look and will it be positioned on the right place. You can always erase the pen lines after. So no worries.

Inking
*Another one bites the dust song starts in the background* Hey hey heeey I'm back to inking after who knows how many months. Feels good man. Feels good. My ink magician skills haven't failed me yet. This time I used Unipin's fine liners sizes 0.1; 0.3; 0.4 and 0.6 plus special Staedtler liner size 0.05. You have no idea how thin that monster is.
First time that I started inking eyes first and then the rest lmao I was so confident about the shape that I didn't hesitate or leave them for the later. For something that has "risky" shape, I suggest to use thinner liners, like I used 0.1 for his eyes and 0.3 for the face shape while 0.4 was used mostly for his hair and 0.6 for the clothing parts (aka his neck and shoulders). Tbh I have no idea where do I get from this feeling of what size should I use for what part of the drawing lol. Practice probably idk.

(I also decided to draw him with a smile- or more like a smirk heh. After all it did feel warm and welcoming when I saw him smiling for the first time in the anime. Admit it, he looks qt.)
And now, my special technique.... the crossed line inking and line filling! Gotta love the way of how it reveals me from daily stress ah. Tbh it is a process where the first layer is done quickly but then you get slower with detailing and making sure you don't cross the main lines of the figurine. Ofc, different colours-=different pressure applying to the paper and different sizes of liners. Per example, his suit is somewhat black/gray. I used 0.6 for that and I used fair amount of pressure when I filled it. His neck is kinda green= lighter colours= smaller size and less pressure. (0.3) and it goes the same with his hair... the orange parts were filled with 0.4; pink with 0.1 and yellow with 0.05 and the lowest pressure possible because I wanted for it to stand out and be obvious that his hair is multy coloured.

Ok, so that could be the end of the art- but...I wanted to make it more similar to the other drawings I doodle in this sketchbook. It was either having fun with descriptive geometry or some lyrics/quotes in the background. And since I wasn't in the mood for geometry I decided the second option and since Yusaku doesn't have some interesting quotes except his summon chants, I decided to get a bit nostalgic and write down the lyrics of the first Vrains's opening- With the wind. No, the lyrics isn't translated to English, it remained in Japanese. And after 10mins of copy pasting the lyrics this was the result (alongside with my previous old doodle cause why not)

Final product
Ah, after taking 20 pics, finding the best one and editing it after, I finally came to conclusion: I wasted too much time that I shouldn't but hecc who needs to sleep, it's not like it's 4am now hehe. Oh ye, the drawing took less than 30mins tbh it was quick af, the longest part was transcribing the lyrics of the opening lmao. But in the end, I'm glad how it looks. Quite refreshing and positive UwU.
Thank you for reading or scrolling trough the nice progress pictures, I appreciate both UwU. See ya next time kids, who knows when will it be. Until then, stay cheeki breeki~
Edit: why are my progress blogs so long and filled with lots of descriptions? Because I want to share every part of my journey with you. To those who want to learn something I'm always full of ideas and ways of doing something. And I consider that alongside with epic art, you need to do a good part in blogging in order to create a high quality post that's feature worthy. And this isn't about the "proving" that the art is mine, it's more about explaining and teaching others. With that, you're contributing to your art even more.
